Police Law Interaction Forum


HPNLU, Shimla has always laid emphasis on research initiatives and interactions beyond the classroom discussions that promote learning at various levels, both for the pupil and the faculty members. The University is undertaking multi-pronged activities currently. Furthering, the overall goals of research led by the University and activities, the University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Himachal Pradesh Police, Shimla.


The MoU has established an institutionalised mechanism for undertaking various activities defined therein, called the Police Law Interaction Forum(PoLIF). The PoLIF consists of members representing both the parties to the MoU. The PoLIF is conceived and instituted on the bedrock of Research, Training and Development (RT&D). It is to further interaction between the police personnel and the students of the University to foster knowledge exchange, apart from facilitating a collaborative approach to administration of the law.


Under the aegis of this MoU and PoLIF the following, among others, will take place-


  •         Annual Internship for students of HPNLU, Shimla;
  •         Annual Training for the personnel inducted into the Himachal Pradesh Police;
  •         Research work in collaboration with the Himachal Pradesh Police;   

The University looks forward to the fractioning of this MoU and Undertaking activities which have long-term contribution to the overall administration of the justice system in the State of Himachal Pradesh.
