Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups Cell (SEDG) To cater to the diverse needs of learners the New Education Policy, 2020, envisions a transformative approach to include students with diverse backgrounds into the main stream education and emphasises on creating an environment that enables, honours, promotes diversity. One of the primary goals is to increase students participation from socio-economically disadvantage groups. Therefore, the Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Group (SEDG) Cell in a University, as per UGC guidelines, is a dedicated body established to ensure equitable access to higher education and opportunities for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Its primary aim is to address systemic barriers, promote inclusive participation, and provide support to these students.
